Kilkenny High Street premises seeks planning to change shopfront

High Street in Kilkenny

A High Street business premises has sought planning permission to change its shopfront.

Three Ireland (Hutchison) Limited, which is at 76 High Street, wants to replace its existing painted shopfront fascia with new armourcoat fascia detail and the retention of the internally illuminated fascia signage and illuminated projecting signage, complete with all associated site works. The property is located within an architectural conservation area.

The changing shopfronts of Kilkenny City centre has been a topic for discussion over the years with the council setting out guidedlines and diverging opinions over what is desirable.
