Co Kilkenny town receives new facilities

Cllr Pat Fitzpatrick has welcomed the completion of improvement works at the Castlecomer Activity Hub.

A new Multi-Use-Games-Area (MUGA) and an Outdoor Gym, funded by the Community Recognition Fund, have been erected in the hub and have been a 'tremendous boost' to Castlecomer according to Cllr Fitzpatrick.

The Fianna Fail representative hopes the infrastructure will create a 'vibrant' and 'inclusive environment' in the area, emphasising the importance of creating spaces that encourage physical activity and social interaction.

"I am thrilled to see the completion of this project, which not only adds to the recreational options in our community but also promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for all age's which is extremely important," he said.

"Key features of the MUGA include versatile sports facilities, including the installation of basketball court lining, the installation of Adult Outdoor Gym Equipment and the installation of Thermoplastic Hopscotch, Footprints and Thermoplastic Snakes and Ladders," Cllr Fitzpatrick concluded.
