Gardaí investigating 'theft of several animals' from Kilkenny premises

An investigation is underway after "the theft of several animals" took place in Kilkenny area.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed: "Gardaí are investigating the theft of several animals from a premises in the Galmoy area, Co Kilkenny, which was reported on Tuesday, July 9.

"Investigations are ongoing."

Following a Facebook post by Sarah Kel, who shared an image of the alleged animals to of been stolen along with a detailed post asking followers for help.

Sarah said: "Three mares were stolen from the Galmoy Mines area, between Monday afternoon on the 8 of July and Tuesday morning, 9, on the Johnstown to Rathdowney Road (Johnstown in Co Kilkenny and Rathdowney in Co Laois). If anyone has any information regarding their whereabouts please ring 086 809 0709. A reward of €2000 is being offered for the safe return of the three mares. Photos of two of the mares are below. The third horse stolen is a big, black, heavy filly of about four years of age. PLEASE Share. Thank you."
