Deenside Players have prepared a showstopping version of Sleeping Beauty this year.
The show was written by Mark Duffy and will be ably performed by a wonderful cast and chorus. John Coogan and Sarah Brennan direct and produce the show every year – and the pair always manage to ‘Comerise the script. This year there are nearly 100 children involved, and it is amazing to witness their talent and their enthusiasm for the show, it always amazes us in the era that we are in that the children still want to get on stage in their costumes and dance, sing and act - with no iPhone or electronics in sight.
The Pantomime is renowned for its show every year and much of its popularity is down to the fact that we put on a traditional show – and this is not something you will get in many theatres nowadays. The tradition of ‘Comer Panto goes way back to the 1950s.
This year’s show takes place from Tuesday, January 28 – Saturday, February 1. Curtain up nightly at 7.30pm. Matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
