'Residents are not happy' - Pleas for investment in local 'dangerous' footpath

Independent, Cllr Maurice Shortall has urged Kilkenny County Council to find resources within the council's 2026 budget to provide footpath maintenance on the N78 between Coolbawn and Moneenroe in North Kilkenny.

"The path is very overgrown with grass and residents are not happy," Cllr Shortall penned in a motion for the next sitting of the Castlecomer Municipal District.

The matter is expected to be discussed further at the December monthly meeting of the Castlecomer Municipal District.
