The Flying Column set for the Freshford Commemoration, with local Cllr Michael McCarthy and Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere TD
The annual Easter Commemoration will take place in Freshford on Sunday, April 5 on the Square in Freshford at 11.30am.
The event includes a variety of performances, readings, and ceremonies that reflect the cultural and historical significance of the Irish language. Local councillor Michael McCarthy has confirmed that the special guests will be MEP Billy Kelleher, who will read the Proclamation, and local TD Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere.

The Flying Column will be in attendance in full military uniform, as will local primary school musicians with Ceoltóirí Cill Chainnigh. Music will be by Gary Gillian and PJ, while there will be various readers, and MC John Meagher. There will be a flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremony.
