Three wins on the bounce

Erin's Own Camogie U-12’s got their league campaign off to a flying start by overcoming their first three opponents.

The first was away to Paulstown/ Goresbridge where both teams were very evenly matched and the Comer girls had to dig very deep to maintain a narrow lead to the end.

The following match was away to Conahy where the girls played a young but courageous Conahy squad. Comer once again took the lead early on and demonstrated plenty of blocking and hooking , preventing several scoring chances for Conahy.

They displayed great tenacity every time they won possession and found the back of the net on several occasions, leaving them in a comfortable lead at the final whistle.

Last Thursday night there was another cracking match in Ballycomey against old rivals Ballyragget, where Comer girls were full of fire and determination not to lose on home turf.

Erins Own were the first to put a score on the board, a lead which they never relinquished, through clever passing and teamwork which created constant pressure on the Ballyraggett back line and goal.

Although their opponents fought very hard and didn’t give up, they were unable to convert their chances through excellent defending and some super saves by the Comer girls who proved to be just too strong for them to overcome by full time.
