Eurovision comes to Freshford!

Freshford Eurovision

Freshford Acorn Club will host Eurovision Show in Freshford on Thursday, November 15, with a host of stars including Niamh Kavanagh - Paul Harrington - Charlie McGettigan, with guests Kate Cullen, Lorraine Maher and The Deirdre Maher School of Dancing performing a tribute to Riverdance.

Accompanying will be a 11 piece concert Orchestra and Chorus.  The compere for the evening will be Mary Kennedy of RTE’s Nationwide fame. Musical direction will be provided by Ollie Hennessy (RTE Rose of Tralee).

Local artists will again play key roles in this show with recruitment commencing shortly.

This will be the first year that the Acorn Club will stage their show outside of the Community Hall and this year the show will be held in St Lachtain’s Catholic Church. This is due to the amount of space required to hold a large Orchestra and Chorus, sound and lighting and an anticipated larger audience is expected to attend.

Proceeds from the show will fund local social and educational initiatives including The Acorn Club’s Social Enterprise proposal for the development of the Odeon Cinema.

(See Acorn Club Facebook page for details). Tickets are on sale at €25 and can be purchased in O’Shea’s, Freshford, 056 8832157 and online from Ticketstop.ie
