Martin Glendon was a jolly and friendly character

RIP

Rest in Peace

The people of Freshford and surrounding areas were saddened to hear last week of the passing of Martin Glendon late of Clomantagh, Woodsgift, on Thursday, September 27.

Although he had been unwell for some time his passing caused widespread sadness and regret. He was only 70 and was widely known in the locality especially among the greyhound and coursing community. He was keen greyhound racing enthusiast and also followed coursing and was a member of the Coursing Club for many years.

He spent many years in England before coming back to his native area. He was a jolly and friendly character and loved the music and craic.

His remains were removed from Doyle’s funeral Home Urlingford on Saturday, September 29, for funeral mass in Graine Church followed by burial in Clomantagh cemetery. He is mourned by his daughters Sharon and Ciara, grandchildren Caolan and Eoin, sisters Kitty (Cooke) and Patricia (Dermody), brothers-in-law, sisters in law, niece Siobhan, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.
