Una McGrath was a kind, good natured and friendly lady

The people of Freshford and surrounds were saddened to hear of the death of Una McGrath (nee Buckley) late of Meadow Way, Kilkenny and formerly of The Square, Freshford, on October 20, 2018.


The deceased, who was only in her early 60s had been unwell recently but nevertheless her passing caused widespread shock and regret.
She was a member of a well known family who grew up in village. She was predeceased by her brother Pat and sister Ann.


Una worked as a psychiatric nurse for years and although she moved to Kilkenny many years ago she was a regular visitor back to Freshford. She was a kind, good natured and friendly lady and is deeply mourned by her husband Mick.


She is also mourned by her brother Diarmuid, sisters Maura and Brid, brothers in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her remains were removed from Kennedy's funeral home on Monday morning, October 22,  for funeral mass followed by burial in Kilbride Cemetery, Callan.
