David Morris
'The Wolf of Walkin Street' David Morris sharpened his claws last weekend for the final of the Irish Amateur Snooker Championships, claiming the national title for the fifth time in his career.
The Kilkenny cueist powered to an impressive 7-1 final win over his old adversary, Brendan O'Donoghue.
Morris, the youngest snooker player ever to win an Irish Amateur title back in 2004 as a 15-year-old, went through the competition with no real imminent danger from a field of 69.

He defeated Paul Arnold (Kildare) 4-0, John O'Sullivan (Kilkenny) 4-2, Mark Gleeson (Nenagh) 4-1, Rodney Goggins (Wexford) 5-3, and Ross Bulman (Youghal) 6-1.
He also hit the joint highest break in the event with a break of 133 alongside Ross Bulman.
The Kilkenny man dedicated his win to his late grandmother.
David, known locally as Davy, is widely considered to be amongst the greatest amateur players of the modern era on this island.
A fine ambassador and role model for his sport, Morris also won the Irish Amateur Championships in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2019.
Notably, the Kilkenny City cueman spent more than a decade on the professional snooker tour, climbing up to #51 in the world.
In the 2015-2016 season, he was ranked as Ireland's number three player, behind only pro-snooker veteran Fergal O'Brien and former World Snooker Champion, Ken Doherty.
