Kilkenny’s Kate Flanagan has captained Rockwell College to a Munster Schools Senior A Hockey double, with the team winning both the League and Cup titles this season.

Rockwell secured the Munster Schools Senior A Inter-League Final on March 11 with a 2-1 win in shuttles against Villiers, before going on to win the Cup Final on Monday, defeating Midleton College 2-1.

Both finals took place at Rockwell College, with strong support from students and staff creating a great occasion for the team.

Kate led the side throughout the campaign, guiding the group through both competitions against strong opposition, including schools with larger playing numbers.

Coached by John Ryan and Sandra Cahalane, the team showed consistency across the season to secure the double.

It marked a significant achievement for both Kate and the College, and a memorable end to the school hockey season.
