Boxing: Keith takes bronze in Branderburg

Paulstown light fly weight, Keith Flavin won a bronze medal for Ireland when boxing in the Branderburg Cup in Germany. This was Keith’s second bronze medal of the season.

Paulstown light fly weight, Keith Flavin won a bronze medal for Ireland when boxing in the Branderburg Cup in Germany. This was Keith’s second bronze medal of the season.

In his first fight Keith beat a boxer from Japan by 19 points to 5. In the semi-final he was one point up going in to last round against the World champion from Russia but was pipped on the bell.

Keith has picked to box in the World Championship in Thailand shortly. Paultown coach Ollie O’Neill is confident Keith will do very well because he is right on top of his game at the moment.

Paulstown member and Olympic Games boxing team captain, Darren O’Neill is taking a well earned break from training. He will resume training on Tuesday, September 25 when the Paulstown club officialy opens at 7pm for all members.
