LADIES - The team of Kathleen Ryan, Noreen Kinsella and Joan Coonan were worthy winners of the AIB Qualifier. They go forward to play in the regional round in Dun Laoighre GC at the end of the month.

Ladies are reminded that the club singles competition is drawing near. Names must be put on the sheet in the locker room before May 23 to be included in the draw. Entry fee is due at the start of the competition.

The Intermediate Team had a great win over Gowran in Callan recently. The players were Joan Brennan, Kathleen Ryan, Jacinta Culliton, Eileen Fogarty and Ita Madigan. This was a very close contest with one pair going down the 23rd hole to win the match.

Results, competition May 14/15: 1 Breda Phelan, 2 Ann Ring, 3 Theresa Manning. Valerie Doyle qualifiers are Breda Phelan, Noreen Kinsella and Ann Ring.

DIARY - The ladies 18 hole singles competition, sponsored by Harrington’s Pharmacy, will be held this weekend.

The Australian Spoons qualifier, an 18 hole foursomes, may be played at any time from May 23 to 31. Names can be entered on the sheet in the locker room.

There will be a nine hole mixed competition on Friday. Entries from 5pm on.

OPEN SINGLES - Results, Men’s Open Singles (sponsored by Eurospar Castlecomer), May 7/8: 1 Thomas Davis, 41pts; 2 Ger Mullan, 40pts; gross John Smith, 32pts. Class One: Shay Kennedy 37pts. Class Two: Michael Healy, 39pts. Class Three: Paddy Mahon, 39pts. The next 18 hole singles competition will be held this weekend. Sponsor is Michael ‘Mock’ Lawlor UPVC Windows & Doors.

SENIORS - The seniors will have a mixed outing to Rathdowney Golf Club on Monday. Assembly is at 10am.

Senior vice-captain Ned Kenny will run a singles competition for men on Wednesday, May 25. This will be followed by a meal.

LOTTO – There was no winner of the lotto jackpot. Lucky prize-winners were: E100 Tony Duggan; E70 Michael Bollard, E30 John O’Rourke, B. Hardy. Sellers’ Lucky Dip: E30 Ber Brennan, Michael Brennan. The jackpot is now E3,200.
