Competition time for juniors

THE competitions for junior and juvenile members of Castlecomer GC are now in full swing.

The competition will be held every Monday, starting at 9.30am. New members are welcome to compete, with further information available from 056-4441139.

Professional golf lessons will be available for juniors on July 6 and 13. Sessions for beginners will be held from 2 to 3pm, with advanced sessions from 3 to 4pm.

LADIES - This week is the highlight of the ladies golf year with Lady Captain Margaret Furlong’s competition. With the final round being played on Saturday, and with so many playing well at present, it promises to be a close competition.

The final round will be followed by a scramble for all members, as well as the presentation of prizes and music by the Kennys. All are welcome.

The Castlecomer ladies Challenge team were narrowly beaten in the third round. Players were Helen Dunne, Aoife Carr, Ann Ring, Margaret Conway and Jean Jackman. The junior foursomes team were also beaten in their competition.

LOTTO - There was no winner of the lotto jackpot. Draw prize-winners were: E100 Sean Flood; E70 John Shore; E30 Maria Holland, Ben Sheeran. Sellers’ Lucky Dip: E30 Michael Bollard, Ger Comerford.

The jackpot is now E5,000.
