Junior Gross - 1 Martin O’Halloran (Callan), 75pts; 2 Paul Madigan (Callan), 76pts. Junior Nett - 1 J.D. Harding, 70pts; 2 Niall McGahon, 71pts.

Intermediate Gross - 1 Martin Brennan, 80pts; 2 Pat Buggy, 81pts. Intermediate Nett - 1 James Hartley (Callan), 65pts; 2 Paul Munnelly (Abbeyleix), 73pts.

FUND-RAISER - The Open Club fund-raiser will be held on September 16 and 17. Cost of entry is E50 per team of three (full handicap). Prize categories include for seniors over-60s and all ladies team prize. Non GUI teams welcome. Timesheets available.

SENIORS - Results, seniors competition, August 24: 1 Christy McGrath (18), Christy Ryan (21), Danny Walsh (21), John Shore (23), 84pts; 2 Murty Coonan (9), Noel Walsh (19), Ned Holland (21), Phil Shore (21), 82pts; 3 Jimmy Byrne (9), Jim Purcell (14), Jim Bollard (19), 81pts.

The seniors welcomed new members Tom Rothwell and Jim Bollard.

RESULTS - Results, Thursday Open Singles, August 25: 1 Mark Delaney, 37pts; 2 Tom Molumby (Abbeyleix), 34pts; gross Padraig Curry, 28pts.

Results, scramble competition, August 23: 1 Sean Scanlon, Michael Furlong, Francis Rodgers, Helen Dunne, 23 6/8pts; 2 Murty Coonan, Michael Brennan, Margaret Furlong, 27pts.

LOTTO - There was no winner of the club lotto jackpot. Consolation prizes went to: E100 Ms Quinn; E70 Fiona Dunne; E30 Mary McGuinness, Maura Cass. Sellers’ Lucky Dip: E30 Nuala Kenny, Richard Boland. Jackpot is now E4,400.
