Maddock is Golfer of Year

THE seniors from Mountain View GC held their final Golfer of the Year competition recently. Format was a single stroke competition with Winter rules in place.

THE seniors from Mountain View GC held their final Golfer of the Year competition recently. Format was a single stroke competition with Winter rules in place.

Playing off 17, Liam Maddock scored a fabulous nett 66 to win the competition. Victory was also enough to see Liam walk away with the Golfer of the Year title.

WINTER LEAGUE - After three rounds things are delicately poised at the top of the Winter League table. With the four best scores counting the McIlroy team, captained by Bobby Hearne, are top with 341 point. Paul Whelan’s Team Harrington are second place on 340 points. Detailed results are posted in the clubhouse and on www.mviewgolf.com.

The fourth round of the league will be held this weekend. With the best five scores to count it is important that all many team members as possible take part.

RESULTS - Results, MV seniors single stroke competition (GoY), November 2: 1 Liam Maddock (17), 66pts nett; 2 John Leahy (25), 66pts; 3 Joe Earle (19), 68pts.

Results, October Bank Holiday Open single Stableford: 1 Kane Ryan (MV, 18), 40pts; 2 Patrick O’Keeffe (Callan, 14), 39pts; 3 Richard O’Hara (MV, 14), 38pts.

Results, October Bank Holiday Open Ladies single stableford: 1 Kathleen Lanigan (MV, 20), 30pts.

DIARY - Sunday: Winter League, round four. Tuesday, November 15: MV seniors competition.
