THE Borris Pierce Purcell team qualified in first place, with Mountain View coming through as runners-up, from a group that included eight clubs (Borris, Mount Juliet, Gowran Park, Kilkenny, Mountain View, Bunclody, New Ross and Waterford).

THE Borris Pierce Purcell team qualified in first place, with Mountain View coming through as runners-up, from a group that included eight clubs (Borris, Mount Juliet, Gowran Park, Kilkenny, Mountain View, Bunclody, New Ross and Waterford).

The club also had success in two other competitions. The Provincial Towns Cup team beat Waterford 5-4, while the Brennan Cup side saw off Charlesland 3-2.

RESULTS - Results, President Tom Coburn’s Prize to ladies: 1 Nuala Walsh (32), 65pts; 2 Yuan O’Nelll (33), 72pts; 3 Margaret Collins (14), 72pts; gross Kate Hennessy (11), 85pts; 4 Sarah Molloy (31), 73pts; 5 Mary Wemyss (23), 74pts; 6 Eileen Kelly (22), 76pts.

Results, nine hole singles stableford: 1 Ted Joyce (8), 24pts; 2 M.J. Doherty (11), 24pts; 3 Donal Kelly (13), 21pts.
