THE Senior Cup team was defeated 3-2 by the Connacht champions, Claremorris in the All-Ireland finals at Malone golf club on Friday. Mary Dowling lost 2 and 1. Eileen Rose Power won 5 and 4 and Orla Dunphy won 1-up. Mary Leahy Browne lost 5 and 4 and Bridie McGarry lost on the 18th.
The other members of the panel were Mags Cuddihy and Niamh Kelly.
Claremorris then beat tournament favourites Royal Portrush 4-1 in the semi-final. In the other semi Douglas beat Enniscorthy by 3 ½ matches to 1½. They beat Claremorris 3½ to 1½ in the final.
Great credit is due to the panel, club pro Jimmy Bolger, team managers Liz Cleere and Margaret McCreery for all their hard work in preparing for the campaign.
