Great start to Spring League

The first round of the Spring League, a three person Scramble with the fourth team member playing a singles Stableford, was played on Sunday at Mountain View golf club and some great scores were returned.

The first round of the Spring League, a three person Scramble with the fourth team member playing a singles Stableford, was played on Sunday at Mountain View golf club and some great scores were returned.

After round 1 Austin Brownrigg, Frank Costello, along with John and James Byrne, are setting a hot pace. They are leading with 86 points which included a fantastic team score of 45 points.

The Malone brothers, Tommy and Tony, along with father and son combination, Tommy and Mark Phelan are second on 83 points. Mark played the singles and scored 40 points.

In third place are The Amazing Grace team, Willie Grace, T.J. Coughlan, Michael Doyle and Kane Ryan with 81 points.

The second round (Classic 1 with two scores on the par 4s’ and three scores on the par 3s’ and par 5s’) is on Sunday, March 25.

OPEN WINTER LEAGUE: The open winter league concluded last week. The winner after 10 rounds was T.J. Coughlan (10) with 34 points. Michael Doyle (11) was second on 26 points and Seamus Fitzpatrick (19) was third with 18 points.
