Captain Ger Gibbons welcomed all, particularly the new members. He congratulated the prize winners and thanked everyone who helped in any way during the year.

He introduced and extended a special welcome to the new Community FAS worker. He thanked Kevin Knox and his team for their great work in setting up the sprinkler system on the course, and also the ladies for their work in the kitchen and on the renovation of the clubhouse.

Secretary Aine Mackey said club competitions, while well supported, needed to be refreshed. A number of ideas were discussed and some changes were agreed to and will be implemented in 2012.

The continued improvements to the clubhouse and shed were most welcome and thanks was due to all who helped.

She congratulated Dicky Dreeling on reaching the final of the Regional Match Play. The retirement of Jim Monahan from the Regional Board was marked with a presentation night.

The question of promoting the game among juveniles needed to be addressed as a matter of urgency, it was felt. She thanked all who donated furniture to the clubhouse

The treasurer’s report showed the club to be in a sound financial position, despite increased expenditure on the course. The annual club draw helped greatly with finance. This was due to the great promotion by and effort of the members.

Officers elected - Captain, Tom O’Neill; vice-Captain, Kevin Knox; President, Stasia Heafey; vice-President, Marie Power; secretary, Aine Mackey; treasurer, Michael Shortall.

Committee - Mary Gibbons, Larry Gibbons, Martin Brennan, Eugene Gibbons, Ina O’Donnell, Dicky Dreeling, George Madden, Patsy Kirk, Aidan Gibbons, Ger Gibbons, Pat Peters, Tom Muldowney, Patsy Gibbons

Membership and green fees to remain at the same level as last year.
