All-Ireland Junior hurling champions, St Lachtain’s Junior hurling team, has been feted at a civic reception in County Hall hosted by Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council Michael McCarthy, along with the elected members of Kilkenny County Council.

In his congratulatory speech, Cllr Michael McCarthy, who is from Freshford, expressed his pride and joy: "This afternoon is both a proud and historic occasion for me as Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council.  I am delighted to host this Civic Reception for my home team. It was a pleasure to attend and to witness the amazing scenes in Croke Park and indeed the homecoming which will live long in all of our memories. Huge thanks to all in the community who made this day possible," he said.

All elected members present extended their congratulations the team, manager Steven Farrell, and backroom staff for their outstanding achievement.
