The first Saturday in February is a date marked on local calendars, for the annual Portlaoise and District Ploughing Competition.
This year there were lots of familiar faces from Kilkenny at the competition, which took place on the lands of Matt Lalor, Ballycarnan, Portlaoise. Thanks to photographer Alf Harvey who took all the photographs in this gallery.
