GALLERY: New crop of Kilkenny soldiers graduate from James Stephens Barracks

On Thursday, February 6, the 173rd 2-3 star platoon passed out as fully qualified three Star Privates in James Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny.

Over the last number of weeks, under the command of Lt Cian Cassidy, Sgt Kev Christie and all their section commanders, the 2-3 Star platoon were trained up in the use of weapons such as the grenade, M203 grenade launcher and the AT4 Short Range Anti Armour Weapon (Sraaw), Military operations in urban terrain (MOUT), platoon level tactics, Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) training and much more.

"We wish the newly qualified 3* soldiers all the best with their future careers with the DF." a spokesperson for the barracks said.
