Young and old, musicians and artist, gardeners and maybe even a few people who just wanted to enjoy the lovely surrounds of a walled garden with a cuppa, the Callan Open Doors weekend had something to offer everyone.
Undeterred by the weather, outdoor events were enjoyed just as much as the indoor ones as organisers pulled out all the stops to make the second year of the Open Doors festival even better than before.
From Callan Pecha Kucha on Thursday evening, a new way of allowing artists to show the processes behind their work in seven-minute presentations, to the traditional music and teas in the Westcourt Walled Garden at the annual plant sale, through art collaborations between members of the public and local artists, the deep vein of community spirit and artistic endeavour in the local area was showcased. The festival’s aim of inviting people into art spaces and bringing artists into community spaces was achieved. Click NEXT to see lots more photographs of the weekend!
