The Irish Pure Friesian Seminar and Showcase Sale was held at Kilkenny Mart at Cillin Hill, recently.
Due to the increasing success of the annual on-farm open day, last year brilliantly hosted by Pat and Claire Cleary and family at the Carrickshock Herd, the Irish Pure Friesian Club is moving this year to an October afternoon seminar, awards presentation and showcase sale.
The Irish Pure Friesian Club's seminar and awards presentations also took place on the day.
There will be trade stands available to view and an afternoon of panel discussions on topics relevant and interesting to pedigree breeders and commercial dairy farms using or interested in British Friesian cows.
The afternoon saw the announcement and presentation of the awards for the Axa Insurance Irish Pure Friesian Club's National Herds Competition, this year judged by Roberta Dunbar of Barncluth Herd, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
