Supporters from both clubs expected a tight, tense affair and this provincial final lived up to the billing with the teams level on a number of occasions throughout.

In a game where any green flag could prove fatal, Cara Duggan in the Dicksboro goal proved to be worth her weight in gold as she dived low to save an Una Lacey penalty.

However, Outlart the Ballagh did eventually have the net bulging just on the brink of half-time. Threatening full-forward Lacey broke past the 'Boro defence to net and give the Wexford kingpins a 1-9 to 0-7 advantage at the interval.

Donal Carroll's side weren't phased by the deficit and outscored their opponents by 0-10 to 0-4 in the second half with Asha McHardy starring at wing-forward, notching three excellent points to act as the 'Boro catalyst.

The win will no doubt be celebrated at the Palmerstown clubrooms on Sunday and Monday with the Kilkenny City club securing their second provincial title in three seasons.
