Kilkenny property sells for staggering sum of €2.2 million

One of Kilkenny's most iconic countryside manor properties was recently sold to new owners.

Mountloftus House, located near Goresbridge in County Kilkenny, recently sold for the princely sum of €2.2 million, according to recent filings from the Property Price Register.

The house and grounds were originally home to the Loftus baronets.

The original 18th Century manor house was demolished in 1906 and the current house on the estate, built in the early 20th Century, was rebuilt from staff accommodations after a fire in the 1930s.

This house, and several of its outbuildings, are included on Kilkenny County Council's Record of Protected Structures.
