Sheltered, secure, ideally laid out, and currently working with livery owners, competition riders, hotel guests and local clients, Mount Juliet Equestrian has everything you need to run a going concern, or make it a training base for your own horses, from which to compete on the world stage. The facilities also lend themselves to breeding and foaling.

Originally opened in 2008, Mount Juliet Equestrian's recent refurbishment has been done with flair, coupled with an in-depth knowledge the latest advances in horse care and welfare. The Mount Juliet Estate offers an unrivalled setting, with lakes and picturesquely resident swans, riverside riding, woodlands, gallops and paddocks with excellent grazing. You have access to the hotel's bars, restaurants, cafés, and spa; while hotel guests enjoy the amenity of the Centre in turn.

Accessed via a private road on the Mount Juliet Estate, the yards at Mount Juliet Equestrian are sheltered by mature planting, trees and hedging, and secured by fencing and automatic gates. A reception area, complete with meeting room, offices and staff and guest changing facilities provides access to the yards and stables beyond. The 26 loose boxes are laid out across two barns, both in the American-style. The smaller of these, with double-height rolling and glazed doors offers a useful six full-size loose boxes. These can be used for additional stabling, or for tacking up horses at grass.

Beside these are two temperature controlled tack room spaces with washing machines, a kitchen and space for staff relaxation. The main barn, topped with an auto-adjusting clock tower, has twenty 3.6 x 3.6m stables, each with doors to the barn and large windows to the outside. Each stable has rubber matting, automatic drinker, and CCTV which can be connected to livery owners' homes, as well as being viewable from the office.

While being a boon to owners of valuable animals, the CCTV system is also of obvious use at foaling time, giving Mount Juliet Equestrian potential as a stud and breeding facility. The barn is equipped with a solarium for drying and also for pre and post exercise warming and muscle relaxation. In addition to this, an integrated aromatherapy system can be set to aerate with specially blended calming scents for equines. An Equicity system coordinates each stable mate's daily and weekly programme, and there are also three separate, secure feed sheds on site.

While the core of the establishment is based on the most up to date systems for horse care and welfare, considerable attention has also been paid to creating an environment for owners and riders to enjoy. The overall style is both elegant and professional, while every attention has been paid to the needs and potential whims of horses and humans alike.

From the ample client and customer parking, to the trim hedges, planted borders and arena-side seating areas, complete with BBQ space, Mount Juliet Equestrian is both welcoming and well tended. The stable blocks face each other across a generous yard, while there is generous space for horse boxes and lorries to one side.

There is a two-bay horse washing area to one end of the barn. The main barn shelters a seating area overlooking the 65m x 45m all weather jumping arena. This is an excellent viewing spot, as well as a great place to entertain owners, riders and trainers. There is a separate 45m x 25m all weather training arena beside the smaller barn. Both arenas are fully fenced and hedged. In addition to these vital facilities, there is a round pen for lunging and training, and a series of smaller all weather turn out paddocks.

Leaving the core area, Mount Juliet Equestrian has a lease agreement with the Mount Juliet Estate, giving c. 30 acres of grass paddocks with excellent well drained soil and lush grass. There is a grass jumping arena that is extremely useful for competition training in the summer. Beyond this, there are river trails, woodland trails, gallops and lakeside hacks giving hours of off-road riding, securely located on the 500 acre estate.
