Public consultation to be held as plans unveiled for Kilkenny greenfield site

A public consultation on the Clover Centre Site Masterplan is due to be held at the Abbey Community College on Wednesday, June 17.
The Clover Centre is a proposed Ferrybank-based multifunctional local park on a greenfield site on the Kilkenny-Waterford border.
In late 2023, Kilkenny County Council took possession of circa. 9.5 acres of land, which includes sports pitches and a clubhouse, from the trustees of Clover Meats, in Christendom, Ferrybank, South Kilkenny.
A condition that the lands could only be used for the recreational use of the community was attached to this land transfer by the Trustees.
“Public Consultation evenings are taking place to ensure that the Masterplan best serves the needs of the local community,” a council spokesperson said.
