There is a cloud of sadness hanging over the community of Clogh and North Kilkenny following the passing of Anna Mae Treacy, in her 103rd year.

Anna Mae passed away peacefully on Wednesday, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husbands Patrick Keyes and Jimmy Treacy, infant children Matthew and Agatha, daughter Peig O'Loughlin, sons-in-law Seamus Brennan and Lenny Nelson.

Anna Mae will be sadly missed by her children Betty Brennan, Larry Keyes, Breda Hetherington, and Máire Ní Threasaigh, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, daugther-in-law Betty Keyes, sons-in-law Vincent Hetherington and Pat O'Loughlin.

Anna Mae was known for her radiant smile and kind disposition, fond of a few humourous quips and a love of socialising and staying active.

"They used to call her roadrunner," daughter Máire told Kilkenny Live at her 100th birthday celebration.

"Without fail every Sunday morning she'd be up walking the roads into the Church in Clogh for Mass and the feet would be almost spinning underneath her."

Anna Mae is reposing at Coady's Funeral Home on Friday (January 6) from 2pm with funeral prayers at 7pm, followed by removal to St. Patrick's Church, Clogh.

Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

May Anna Mae Rest In Peace.
