The Freshford area lost one of its oldest citizens with the passing of Maura Dowling (née Kennedy), Balleen.
Maura passed away in her 101st year after a long and fruitful life.
A devoted and loving mother grandmother and great grandmother, she loved the game of cards, attending the day care centre and going on the trips over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband Joe a number of years ago and recently predeceased by her son Sean.
Funeral mass was in Clontubrid Church, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
She is survived by her sons Richard, James, Frank, Joe and Noel; daughter Bridget; grandchildren; great grandchildren; son-in-law; daughters-in-law; nephews; nieces and extended family.
