RIP: 'Rest easy Katie'
Tributes have poured in following the recent death of Kilkenny woman Katie Hurley.
Katie Hurley passed away peacefully in her home on 26 February 2025 and was from Hillside View, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny.
She was predeceased by her husband Martin, her parents Mary and Tom Shalloe, brothers Tom, Ned, and Danny, sisters-in-law Nancy and Teresa.
Katie will be sadly missed by her daughter Mary, sons Tom, Eamon, and Martin, sister Carmel, and brothers John and Joe, daughter-in-law Noreen, son-in-law Seamie, grandchildren Martina, Jamie, Katie, Richard, Shane, and Darragh, and her great grandchildren Khloe and Rubymai, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
Tributes have poured in for Katie on RIP.ie, one mourner said,
"My sincerest sympathy and condolences to the Hurley family and extended family on the sad loos of Katie, beautiful, kind woman who always had a word for everyone she met, i have many happy and find memories of Katie, may Katie rest in peace forever with the angels in heaven, my thoughts and prayers are with you all, god bless."
Another said, "Deepest sympathy to Martin,Noreen,Richard,Shane, Darragh, and extended Hurley families on the sad passing of your mam and grandmother may her gentle soul rest in peace."
"My sincere condolences to Mary, Tom, Martin, & Eamon Carmel and all the extended family. Katie was one of a kind. May she rest in peace," another tribute said.

Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing in Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Thursday (27th Feb.) from 4pm concluding with Vigil Prayers & Rosary at 7pm.
Reposing on Friday (28th) from 4pm with Funeral Prayers at 7pm, followed by removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castlecomer.
Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 11am and Katie will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery.
