'A very genuine lady'- Tributes pour in for popular Kilkenny woman

Tributes have poured in for popular Kilkenny woman Kathleen Knox who died recently, and was remembered by her community for working in St Luke's hospital.

Kathleen was from Margaretsfield in Kilkenny City, Kilkenny and Castlecomer in Kilkenny and passed away on March 9 2025.

Kathleen will be sadly missed by her husband Joseph, daughters Donna, Rebecca, Ava, Lesley-Ann, sons Keith and Damien, Mother Norah, grandchildren Maisie, Cathal, Gairoid, Charlie, Sam, and Daniel, uncle Jimmy, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, extended family, relatives and family.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Kathleen, with one mourner writing,

"My sincere condolences to all of Kathleen's family. My own late Mam always spoke of how good a friend Kathleen was to her over the years growing up in Comer. Thinking of you all."

Another message said, "Condolences to the Knox and Brennan families on the passing of Kathleen. I worked with Kathleen years ago in St. Lukes Hospital KK, a very efficient lady on the switchboard /reception. May her soul rest in peace."

"Sorry to hear of kathleen's passing, a very genuine lady when I knew her in school and always a friendly smile whenever we happened to meet afterwards. Sincere sympathy to all her family," another message said.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer, on Wednesday (12th March) from 5pm concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm.

Funeral Prayers on Thursday morning at 10am followed by removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castlecomer for Requiem Mass at 11am. Kathleen will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery.
