RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow woman who was 'a beautiful lady inside and out'

Rose Byrne (née Rosie Walsh) - Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow and formerly Kilkenny - Sunday 23rd March 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Rose Byrne (née Rosie Walsh) of Conway Park, Bagenalstown, Carlow and formerly Kilkenny.

Rose passed away peacefully at St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by her loving family.

She was very recently predeceased by her loving husband Paddy and also predeceased by her parents Jim and Rose Walsh and brother Richard Walsh.

Rose will be sadly missed by her loving children Ann, Ruth, and Gillian, as well as her adored grandchildren Aoife, Jack, Grainne, Muireann, Mark, Niamh, Maud, Conor, Lucy, and Blanaid. She is also mourned by her sons-in-law Joey Donnelly, Martin Kavanagh, and Philly Holohan, along with her sister Maura, brother Seamus, extended family, and many dear friends.

Rose’s warmth, generosity, and spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the countless hearts she impacted throughout her life.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Ah I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rose she was such a beautiful lady inside and out May rose have enternal rest with paddy Condolences to all the Byrne family"

Another reads:

"Many a great chat I had with you over the counter in SuperValu, Rose. Always asking for Mam, always thinking of others. You were an absolute lady. Rest in Peace"

Funeral Arrangements:

Reposing in Somers Funeral Home, Bagenalstown (eircode R21 DY66) on Tuesday afternoon from 3.pm to 8.pm, with Funeral Prayers at 6.pm.

Removal from her daughter Ann's residence on Wednesday Morning arriving at St. Andrew's Church, Bagenalstown for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the Cemetery of the Assumption.
