RIP: Kilkenny barracks pay tribute to soldier who served with 'dedication'

James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny have paid tribute to a former soldier who served with 'dedication, honour, and unwavering commitment.'

Posting to social media, the barracks said: "It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Corporal Martin (Lebbie) O’Brien, who passed away peacefully on Saturday.

"Lebbie served with dedication, honour, and unwavering commitment. His service will be remembered with the highest respect and admiration by all who had the privilege of serving alongside him," the post added.

"At this time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam," they concluded.
