The late John Donovan
The weeks have slipped by since the passing of John Donovan, whose Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in The Church of the Assumption in Callan at 6.30pm mass on Saturday.
During his funeral mass a part of a poem was recited. The poem was about John and celebrated him finally taking his first steps at the age of seven in 1977. It was written by young Sally Kennedy from the Clonmel Road and published in the 'It Happened This Week' column by Ray Cleere.
John’s mother Kathleen was quoted "The joy of him walking is a pleasure we cannot express."
The beautiful poem by Sally Kennedy is dedicated to the late Kathleen and Paddy Donovan. (See this week's Callan Notes for more)
