Virginia Dawson (née Cape)

The death has occurred of Virginia Dawson (née Cape), Jerpoint west, Thomastown, Kilkenny. Virginia B Dawson (nee Cape) passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 3, in the presence of loving family members. She was aged 87. Virginia had lived in Scotland before moving to Ireland, where she has been a resident for 47 years, in Thomastown for most of that period. She will be hugely missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Reposing at St. Columba's Hospital Mortuary, Thomastown from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, August 9. Cremation Service for Virginia will take place at 2pm on the following day, Friday, August 10, at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. All are welcome. Joe Fortune

The death has occurred of Joe Fortune, 4 Árd Lachtain, Freshford, Kilkenny. Suddenly, after a short illness. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, sons Eddie, Thomas, daughters Mary, Noreen, grandchildren, sister, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Kennedy's Funeral Home on Thursday from 6pm with Rosary at 9pm. Funeral Prayers on Friday at 10am, followed by removal to St. Lachtain's Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Lachtain's Cemetery.

Joseph (Joe) Gough

The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Gough, Ballygriffin, Kilmacow, Kilkenny / Slieverue, Kilkenny. Formerly of 5 The Orchid, Slieverue.

James I. Hally

The death has occurred of James I. Hally, Philadelphia and formerly of Shangana, Jenkinstown, Co. Kilkenny. James I. Hally (Jim), 82, died peacefully surrounded by those who loved him on June 13, 2018. Jim is the beloved husband of Rosemary Hally (Molloy), brother of Patrick (Mary), Alice,William (Kathleen) and the late Maurice. Jim has many nephews, a niece, former students, and friends in the US, Ireland, and elsewhere who will miss him dearly.

Masses have been offered for the repose of his soul in Philadelphia and in Conahy, Co. Kilkenny.

Catherine Mooney

The death has occurred of Catherine Mooney, Closhawn, Attanagh, Laois / Attanagh, Kilkenny. Peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her parents Statia and Martin, her brother Henry, her sister in law Carmel and her nephew Alan. Deeply regretted by her loving brothers Tom, Pat, Martin and Denis, sister Statia, sister in law Ber, brother in law Peter, her devoted nieces and nephews, Helen, Mary, Martin, Sharon, Paul, Colm, Carmel, Kevin, Ciara, Lynda, Shane and Adrian, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, neighbours, former work colleagues and friends.
