Loreto Kilkenny Secondary School is gearing up for the national finals of the F1 in Schools Ireland competition.
The esteemed STEM competition presents secondary school students with an exciting challenge: to undertake a comprehensive project encompassing the development of a race brand, the design of a pit display, and the construction of a miniature F1 car, which will all be put to the test at the national finals on Monday the 29th.
“Luas Suas Racing”, drawing from the Irish phrase “speed up” is the first team from Kilkenny having ever made it to the national finals — a testament to the school’s commitment to providing a diverse range of STEM subjects to their students.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Lister Machine Tools, who serve as the title sponsor, and the support from local businesses such as Kiltorcan Karting, Michael Lyng Motors, Pauls, Goods, and Fran Gincell Properties, the team is well-prepared to compete.
More information can be found from the Luas Suas team under the name @luas.suas.racing across all social media platforms where they encourage their community to show support by following their accounts and engaging with their content.
