Two local schools were recently been granted planning permission for development works by Kilkenny County Council.
In North Kilkenny, Crosspatrick National School have been granted planning permission for a standalone prefab extension.
The extension is planned to facilitate childcare, breakfast club, after-school care and general school based activities.
Also sought was permission to upgrade of the foul water treatment system and all ancillary and associated services.
Permission was granted, subject to five conditions, on October 26, 2023.
In South Kilkenny, Scoil Mhuire in Mooncoin have been granted planning permission for a single-storey extension to the side of the existing school building.
This new extension is envisaged to provide an S.E.N. classroom as well as ancillary accommodation.
Also sought in tha applicant’s plans were dedicated S.E.N. parking areas and an extension to the existing ballcourt on the site as well as all associated site development and ancillary works.
Permission was granted, subject to eleven conditions, on November 2, 2023.
There were no submissions lodged in relation to either planning application.
