Principal of Grennan College in Thomastown, Seán Óg O'Sullivan has complimented the hard work and dedication of his students after an impressive set of Leaving Cert results.
"(The mood) was very positive, everyone was upbeat," Mr Óg Sullivan told Kilkenny Live following the release of the exam results yesterday (Friday).
"To have so many coming in even after getting their results to meet with their teachers and to have that contact was excellent," he added.
"It's relief that they have come through it, you build up a relationship with them over the six years," he said, adding, "we're like part-time parents, you'll never stop worrying about them and you just want to see them do well and move on to whatever they're looking to do in their lives."
The local principal wished all the school's students the very best of luck in their future careers but urged them to take their time when making plans for their future.
"It's a lot to soak up and take in so take time to take the next step," he concluded.
