Kilkenny Comhairle na nÓg representative Katie Byrne
Kilkenny Comhairle na nÓg representative Katie Byrne joined Comhairle na nÓg, the national network of child and youth councils, last week to launch its newly redesigned website, along with a new brand identity.
It was developed on behalf of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth by RedDog Creative Agency. The new look celebrates Comhairle na nÓg’s position as the permanent structure representing young voices in decision-making at local and national levels.
Young people involved in Comhairle na nÓg were facilitated to play a central role in the creation of the new brand identity and the development of the website.
The new Comhairle na nÓg website features a modern design with an emphasis on accessibility, easy navigation, and visual appeal, making it a valuable resource for young people, parents, educators, decision-makers and stakeholders.
It serves as a central hub for information on how young people can engage with their local Comhairle and exercise their right in influencing decision-makers on the topics most important to them.
It also provides information on how adults and decision-makers can consult with young people on topics that affect them.
“Comhairle na nÓg is the well established recognised structure for youth participation in decision making, and the new branding and website brings its public image up to date in a dynamic, exciting way,” said Kevin McCarthy, Secretary General, Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.
