Plans for two large new schools in Kilkenny take a step closer in major update

Deputy John McGuinness has confirmed significant progress on the long-awaited Kilkenny Campus project, as a 'letter of intent' has been issued to a contractor for enabling works.

The campus project will cater to the educational needs of 1,000 pupils, housing two schools: Pobalscoil Osraí (Roll Number 70641K) and Kilkenny City Vocational College (Roll Number 70610W).

The announcement, confirmed to Deputy McGuinness by the Department of Education's School Building Unit, marks a key milestone for the project, which aims to deliver two state-of-the-art school buildings on a greenfield site in Kilkenny City.

The Kilkenny and Carlow Education & Training Board (KCETB) has been tasked with overseeing the delivery of the project, which is part of the Department of Education’s Large Scale Capital Programme.
