Students from Colaiste Mhuire Johnstown and Abbey Community College, Ferrybank, exhibited their work at the 2025 Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition at Croke Park on Friday, March 7.

Representing Abbey Community College were Caitlin Kinsella, Emily Doyle, and Emily Kearns.

Two teams represented Colaiste Mhuire Johnstown:

  • Carmen Doab and Meabh Farrell
  • Gerard Daly, Billy Power, Colin Byrne, and Philip Campion

The competition, supported by ABP and Kepak, challenges students to rear five Irish Angus calves and learn about the care and attention required to produce quality beef for consumers.

Five out of the forty-six exhibiting schools that best demonstrate an understanding of the project along with innovative ideas will be presented with Irish Angus calves at the National Ploughing Championships in September 2025.
