Kilkenny College Senior Girls teaM
Making the ambitious move to Leinster this year, all the Kilkenny College girls hockey teams joined the boy’s teams playing in Leinster Leagues and Cup Competitions.
With 20 hockey teams training and playing every week in the College, this enterprising move to Leinster has given season long hockey and equal ability games to all the participating teams.
It has been an outstanding season for the Kilkenny College Senior Girls team. Following an unbeaten table topping run in the Leinster Premier League, the senior team won silver medals in the Leinster League Final playoff in the home of hockey, Three Rock Rovers in Dublin. Qualifying for the All-Ireland Daphne Hall Tournament in Cork, the senior team remained unbeaten, winning the final against a strong Royal Armagh school team from Ulster.

The Kilkenny College team showed skill, teamwork and determination against some of the best teams from all over Ireland. It was also a fitting winning sendoff performance by the team for Ms Lesley Threlfall, manager of countless Kilkenny College teams over the years.
"We wish all the sixth-year players every success in the future, and thank them for their outstanding dedication, hard work, service and fun, over so many years in Kilkenny College," said vice principal Aubrey O'Keeffe.
