Young students from across the county are putting the final touches to their stall for the local Student Enterprise Programme (SEP) final which is taking place next Wednesday, 29 March at The Newpark Hotel.
There are over 125 students taking part on the day with various products and services available on the day. The event is open to the public from 1 pm today with the presentation ceremony taking place at 2 pm. The competition begins in September and is open to all school years from first to sixth.
Fiona Deegan, Head of Enterprise (Acting) with Local Enterprise Office Kilkenny said: “We run a v popular Student Enterprise Programme here locally, thanks to the support of many Schools and Teachers in the area. The Student Enterprise Awards give local teenagers a taste of what it’s like to run their own business and to be their own boss. The competition certainly demonstrates that there is plenty of entrepreneurial talent in Kilkenny, which will leave the judging panel with the onerous task of winning the eventual winners”.
The SEP is a national initiative co-ordinated by all 31 Local Enterprise Offices across Ireland culminating to the 15th Annual National Final Event which takes place on May 4 in Croke Park this year.
