Templeorum National School Girl's five-a-side soccer team won the small schools Mid Leinster Competition in Portlaoise last week.
It was a huge achievement for a small school having won best girl's team in County Kilkenny back in March and best girl's team in Mid Leinster beating Carraig NS, Offaly; Barnashrone, Laois; and Scoil San Tresea, Kildare in Mid Leinster. They now progress to the Leinster Finals.
The last time Templeorum Girls achieved this high standard was in 2008 when they competed in Munster and finished in second place.
It was great to see so many children enjoying the day whether winning or not in the fantastic soccer facilities in the grounds of Portlaoise Leisure Centre.
The Leinster finals will take place in the MDL (Meath District League) grounds in Navan on May 11.
The best of luck with the upcoming finals in the FAI/SPAR Primary Schools five-a-sides.
The happy champions on their journey to the Leinster Finals are: Amelia Coghlan, Alannah Jordan, Maeghann O 'Mahony, Emily Carroll, Éabha Carroll,Spar Representative, Áine Kirwan, Sophie Long, Marie Culleton, Laoise McEvoy.
