Ormonde College gears up for annual end of year show

Ormonde College of Further Education will open its doors for its annual End of Year Show on Thursday, May 11.

A drinks reception will be held at the college, showcasing a diverse range of work completed by students of the Media Studies, Art (Portfolio Preparation), Art with Animation, and Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Fine Art courses. It will feature works in a range of disciplines such as filmmaking, photography, drawing, painting, animation, printmaking, 3D combined media, and more.

“Every year we are extremely proud of what our talented students produce, and we have made it a tradition to open our doors to the public like this every May, says Vincent Andrews, Head of Art at the college.

“Combining the two departments of Media and Art in an exhibition like this is always such a lovely dynamic, as both groups have unique perspectives and approaches. We take enormous pride in producing students that are creative thinkers, and I have no doubt that this show will be a visual demonstration of that.”

Each year, students of Ormonde College are accepted onto a variety of third level courses. For some, the college’s Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Fine Art provides the unique opportunity to continue their studies for a second year while remaining in the region.

The college is currently accepting applications for all of their courses, and forms will be available on the night of the show, or visit www.ormondecollege.ie to apply online .

The End of Year Show takes place on May 11 at 6pm at the college on Oronde Road. All are welcome
