Scoil Mhuire gan Smál is celebrating an extraordinary year of achievement, having been honoured with five awards that reflect the school’s commitment to excellence, inclusion, innovation and wellbeing.

This school year has marked a remarkable chapter in the school’s journey, as it proudly received:

The Green Flag – for outstanding commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability, empowering students to take action on environmental issues;
The Active School Flag – recognising the school’s promotion of physical activity and healthy lifestyles, both during and beyond the school day;
The Gold Award in STEM – a testament to the school’s excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and the integration of hands-on, inquiry-based learning;
Junior Entrepreneur Programme Flag – celebrating young innovators who explored entrepreneurship through creative projects and teamwork;
Autism Friendly School Accreditation – acknowledging Scoil Mhuire gan Smál’s inclusive practices and dedication to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all learners.

“These awards are not just symbols of success—they reflect the heart, hard work, and spirit of our entire school community,” said Cheryl Brennan, Principal of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál.

“Our pupils, staff, and families have worked together to make our school a place where every child can thrive academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.”

This exceptional recognition underscores the school's mission to nurture well-rounded, empathetic, and empowered students who are ready to make a difference in their world.

The children celebrated their achievements with a flag raising ceremony followed by ice-cream provided by the Parent’s Association from funds raised through the school’s iReturn Bin.
