GALLERY: CBS Kilkenny pupils 'Run with Ray' on fun filled morning

RTE broadcaster, Ray D’Arcy made a very special visit to the CBS Primary in Kilkenny in recent weeks as pupils from the city school took part in The Daily Mile, a simple but effective initiative aimed at getting primary school children out, moving and enjoying a quick run. - PHOTOS BELOW

Pupils came out in their numbers to meet Ray, packing the school hall to get a glimpse of the Den host turn talk-show presenter.

After a brief introductory session, it was out to the school field with teachers and Principal Niall Bergin joining Ray and Irish running great Frank Greally from Athletics Ireland for a morning of great enjoyment.

The morning proved to be a great aid for the broadcast host who was in the Marble City for the 'Run for Ray’ event held in the Castle Park later that evening.

For Mr Bergin, who is now into his seventh year as Principal, hailed the initiative has an outstanding success, emphasising the importance of physical and mental health, which will benefit their performance in their overall lives.
